Abayomi Orenuga attended the prestigious Government College, Ibadan and obtained B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and post-graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM), Rueil Malmaison, France. He also obtained LL.B. degree in 1999 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in May 2002. He was in the employment of TOTAL E&P Nigeria for several years and his career profile included postings to Angola, Cameroon, France, South Korea and UK. He retired voluntarily in 2012, and thereafter established LOTAFES Resources Limited, a Petroleum Engineering Consulting outfit and Clichy Solicitors, an energy law firm. He joined Ciscon Nigeria Limited, an Oil & Gas service company, in February 2014 as General Manager, Engineering Services. He speaks English and French, and is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He is also a Mediator. He is past Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Section 61), a founding member and past Secretary-General of the Nigerian Gas Association, and past Executive member of International Gas Union. He was Honorary Lecturer at the Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port-Harcourt teaching Petroleum Project Management to Post-Graduate students. He served on the Presidential Task Force on Contract Processing in Nigerian Oil & Gas industry in 2011 and was a member of Committee on National Policy on Gas Development & Commercialization. He also served on the Governing Board of General Hospital, Ikorodu, Lagos State from 2009 to 2015, and the Strategic Planning Committee for Rural Development in the State. He has attended numerous technical and management development programmes in Nigeria and abroad, and presented papers at major International Energy Conferences. He served as Vice Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938 in 2013/2015. As Vice-Chairman of the Club, his responsibilities included the Chairmanship of Purchase & Price Monitoring Sub-Committee (PPMC), Industrial Relations Sub-Committee and the Anniversary Sub-Committee which organized the 75th Anniversary during which the foundation stone of the Multi-Storey Car Park was laid by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc. Namadi Sambo. He had earlier served as a member of Disciplinary Sub-Committee and Trustees Investigation Panel in 2009. He was elected Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938 on February 28, 2019.
