You are welcome to the Badminton Section of Ikoyi Club 1938, a section that is known for maximum sporting activities and entertainment.

Badminton is one of the racquet games in the Club and it has grown over the years in leaps and bounds. The story of Badminton Section in Ikoyi Club 1938 is that of unprecedented success in facility and membership.

Beyond the regular sporting activities and tournaments, the Section has in recent time balanced the equation of total recreation by introducing another dimension in the social life for members through the regular “Groove Nites”, “Thank God It’s Friday”, “Monthly Birthday Bash” and “Social Sundays”. This has tremendously improved the patronage in the Section.

The Club boasts of 3 Badminton indoor courts in an air-conditioned hall with a viewing gallery capable of sitting 300 spectators.

The section’s bar and sitting area is a “Wireless Hotspot”. This has made it possible and convenient for members to connect to the internet for both business and fun.

The Section is on the verge of installing some electronic games for the junior members. This will make them have better feel of the section outside the regular junior coaching clinics usually organized for them during their holidays.

The section opens 3.00pm daily and closes late into the night.

The Section has a well-maintained Badminton facility in an excellent environment for the relaxation of its members.

6. Male and Female Changing Rooms

Events

1. Sponsored tournaments by individuals or corporate organizations
2. Social Sunday/American tournament:  This is a bi-monthly event to celebrate the birthday of members.
3. Groove Night: This is usually celebrated by members to mark birthday or achievement.
4. Happy Hour: This event is sponsored by the Section to have members eat and drink together.
5. International Tournament: The Section has a yearly international friendly with the Tessano Club in Accra, Ghana. 2014 tournament is scheduled for October 31st –  3rd November 2014 in Ghana.
