Fight against the Coronavirus pandemic
General Committee members of Ikoyi Club 1938 visited Obalende Local Government yesterday, 24th April 2020 with food items such as rice, garri, spaghetti, noodles, semovita groundnut oil and more for the indigent residents of the Local Government as palliatives in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. The truckload of food items was presented by the Club Chairman, Mr. Abayomi Orenuga, who was flanked by the Vice-Chairman; Mr. Tafa Zibiri Aliu, Golf Captain; Mr. Uwem Udoh, Badminton Chairman; Mr. Kazeem Abdulrahman, Aerobics & Other Sports Chairman; Mr. Tokunbo Rufai, Entertainment Chairman; Mr. Bolaji Martins and the General Manager, Mr. Babatunde Orungbeja. The food items were received by the Chairman of the Obalende Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Mr. Fuad Atanda-Lawal, and his team. The LCDA Chairman, who is a member of the Club, expressed his gratitude to Ikoyi Club 1938 for supporting the government in alleviating the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Immediately after receiving the food items, the LCDA chairman commenced the distribution of the items to the less privileged who were present at the venue.
