On September 29, 1938, Ikoyi Club 1938 officially came into being through the merger of the European Club and Lagos Golf Club.

IKOYI CLUB 1938 ILLUMINATES THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH CHRISTMAS LIGHTS Lagos, Nigeria - December 1, 2024

Ikoyi Club 1938 officially kicked off the holiday season with a festive ceremony, as the Club's Chairman, Mr. Tafa Zibiri-Aliu, switched on the Christmas lights yesterday, December 1, 2024. Chairman Tafa Zibiri-Aliu was joined by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Rufai Ladipo, and other members of the Governing Council (GC), including Mr. Olufemi Shadamoro, and the General Manager/CEO. Together, they ignited the festive lights, transforming the club's grounds into a dazzling winter wonderland. The ceremony marked the beginning of a joyous holiday season at Ikoyi Club 1938. The club's Christmas lights display is an annual tradition that brings members and their loved ones together to celebrate the magic of the season.
